Delta 9 THC vs Delta 8 THC
Posted on
Here at VEED labs we recently found ourselves researching the many cannabinoid variants available for purchase online. We quickly learned it can be quite a daunting amount of information to sift through. There are CBD options, Delta 8 THC options, Delta 9 THC options, HHC products, and so many more. So, we determined it would be interesting to delve into the differences between Delta 8 and Delta 9 THC. Below, we would like to share some of the distinguishing differences we have learned in our experience and hopefully it will assist others in arriving at the option that is right for them!
One of the main differences that is widely reported on are the effects each variant has on the state of mind experience. While Delta 8 is considered to be a milder, more stable-minded high, Delta 9 has the classic psychotropic side effects of traditional weed. These include a more acutely heightened state of the experience and sometimes a more euphoric high.
Another factor that distinguishes Delta 8 is Federal legal compliance, whereas Delta 9 is in somewhat of a federal legal limbo. Since both are completely derived from hemp, they are technically covered by the 2018 Federal Farm Bill that allows for hemp-derived THC as long as the item being consumed contains less than 0.3% per each product-unit.
Delta 8 is a minor cannabinoid that is naturally occurring, however it is only found in very small amounts within the Cannabis plant. This made it economically impossible to extract large amounts in order to be able to mass produce Delta 8 products. This production obstacle was removed with the advance of solvents to assist in deriving the Delta 8 THC exclusively from hemp.
Delta 9 is found in abundant quantities within the cannabis plant. Cannabis is still considered to be a Schedule 1 substance per the Federal government. For this reason, in its current state, all "legal" Delta 9 products are extracted exclusively from Hemp.
Another important difference is the amount of time for each variant to take effect. Delta 8 eases users into a mild soothe. Users will feel a high they can control and generally do not lose the ability to think coherently. Delta 9 has a far quicker response and the effects of the high are reported to be twice as potent. It is important to keep this in mind depending on the surroundings of where you plan to consume your Delta THC.
The choice between the two is ultimately up to the user's preferences and desires. Some purists in the cannabis community consider Delta 9 to be the classic option, although Delta 8 is quickly gaining traction among people that prefer a milder experience with a more soothing high.
Below are a list of Delta 8 and Delta 9 products that our customers consider to be some of the best options. They are all manufactured in the USA in our state-of-the-art environmentally conscious pharmaceutical grade facility (VEED Labs).
